Polypipe Civils joins BMBI Expert Panel

Polypipe Civils, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of piping systems, water and climate management systems, joins the Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) Expert Panel. Managing Director Steve Durdant-Hollamby will speak for Civils & Green Urbanisation starting with the Q4 2019 quarterly report, published in February 2020.

Developed and run by MRA Marketing, the BMBI is a monthly index of builders’ merchant sales and the most reliable, up-to-date measure of Repair, Maintenance and Improvement (RMI) activity in the UK. Monthly reports track what is happening in the market, and an in-depth review, including Expert comments, is published every quarter. The BMBI is a brand of the Builders Merchant Federation (BMF). The reports and data are based on GfK’s Builders Merchant Point of Sale Tracking Data, which analyses sales out data from over 80% of generalist builders’ merchants’ sales across Great Britain.

The panel of industry Experts is integral to the Index. Fifteen leading brands across construction speak exclusively for their markets, commenting on issues, legislation, trends and opportunities. The Experts add perspective, meaning and context to the data.

MRA Managing Director Lucia Di Stazio comments: “The BMBI reaches a wide audience both inside and outside our industry, so it’s is an excellent platform for building recognition of our industry, explaining markets and building brands. Steve was one of the founder experts when we launched BMBI in 2015 so we are pleased to welcome him back onto the panel.”

Steve adds: “With climate change and the environment high on the agenda, it is an ideal time for Polypipe to join the BMBI Expert Panel. It is timely with our focus on green urbanisation, and gives us a strong platform to comment on wider industry issues as well as sector specific developments such as the growth in sustainable water management. I’m very much looking forward to being involved again.”

Filling an important gap, BMBI is widely used and referenced in construction, and by economists and Government, which lists BMBI as one of its key information sources for construction data: www.bmbi.co.uk/news-blogs.
