British Gypsum is new BMBI Expert for Drylining Systems

British Gypsum, the UK’s leading manufacturer of interior Drylining Systems, is among four industry leaders to join the Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) Expert Panel in February. A Saint-Gobain Group company, British Gypsum is renowned for its high-performance internal partitions, wall lining and ceiling solutions.

British Gypsum introduced drylining to the UK in 1917 and, over the decades, its products and expertise have shaped the interiors of millions of homes and commercial buildings we see around us today. British Gypsum’s Marketing Director Stacey Temprell speaks for Drylining Systems, and the company’s longstanding experience and market leadership underpins the value of the BMBI panel. Each Expert speaks exclusively for its market, commenting on issues, trends and opportunities.

Developed and run by MRA Marketing, the BMBI – a brand of the Builders Merchant Federation (BMF) – is a monthly index of builders’ merchant sales, and the most reliable, up-to-date measure of Repair, Maintenance and Improvement (RMI) activity in the UK. Monthly reports track what is happening in the market, and an in-depth review, including Expert comments, is published every quarter. The reports and data are based on GfK’s Builders Merchant Point of Sale Tracking Data, which analyses sales out data from over 80% of generalist builders’ merchants’ sales across Great Britain.

The panel of industry Experts is integral to the Index, positioned as leading and authoritative voices of their markets. The Experts also add perspective, meaning and context to the data.

MRA Managing Director Lucia Di Stazio comments: “The BMBI reaches a wide audience both inside and outside our industry, boosted since last year by its regular inclusion in the Government’s BEIS (Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) Monthly Construction Update. Filling an important gap, BMBI is now widely used and referenced in construction, and by economists and Government. It has become an effective platform for building recognition of our industry, explaining markets and building brands. British Gypsum speaks for a new product category that has not be covered in BMBI previously, giving subscribers and readers of BMBI insight into new markets from a leading industry expert.”

Stacey adds: “The BMBI is an extremely valuable platform for the construction industry and we are delighted to have been invited to join its expert panel. As the UK’s leading manufacturer of interior drylining systems, we are keen to share insights from our sector with the industry, to help build awareness around current trends, challenges and opportunities that arise. There is no question, building performance will continue to be under close scrutiny, therefore we must make it as easy as possible for the wider construction community to understand how they can optimise building performance through the use of our drylining systems. We are proud to support any organisation that advocates better-building practices in the UK.”

Stacey’s first comment is published in the Q4 2019 report, available to download here. For all other reports or to watch the round table debate videos and learn more about the Experts, click here.
